Audience
- Sales teams who split incoming leads between agents
- Team leads routing a lead to the right colleague
- Anyone who wants a quick view of just their own leads
Prerequisites
- Access to the Contacts page or the Leads Inbox in your workspace
- At least one other teammate in your workspace (to assign leads to someone else)
Overview
You can assign any contact to one or more teammates in your workspace. Assignment answers a simple question — “whose lead is this?” — so work doesn’t fall through the cracks. A contact can be:- Assigned to you, so it shows up under your My Contacts filter
- Assigned to a colleague, to hand a lead over
- Assigned to several people, when a lead is worked jointly
- Left unassigned, the default for every new and synced contact
Assign from the Leads Inbox
When you’re reading a lead’s conversation in the Leads Inbox:- Open the lead’s thread.
- In the thread header, click the Assign to teammate button (next to the view-contact button).
- Pick one or more teammates from the list.
- The assignees are saved immediately and shown as name badges on the contact.
Assign from the contact detail panel
You can also manage assignment from the contact’s details:- Open a contact (click a row in the Contacts table, or open the contact from the Inbox).
- Go to the General tab.
- Under Assigned to, add or remove teammates.
- Save your changes.
The My Contacts filter
The Contacts table has a dedicated My Contacts tab alongside the source tabs (All, Manual, CSV Upload, and so on).- My Contacts shows only the contacts assigned to you.
- It updates instantly as leads are assigned to or unassigned from you.
- Like the other tabs, your selection is saved in the URL, so you can refresh, bookmark, or share the view.
How assignee names are shown
Assignees are shown by their first and last name. If a teammate hasn’t set a name, their email is shown instead so you can still tell who it is. If a person who was assigned to a contact later leaves the workspace, their assignment shows as Unknown user until it’s removed. You can open the contact and clear that chip at any time. What assignment does and doesn’t do
- Assignment records ownership — it does not change who can see or edit the contact. Everyone in your workspace can still view and work the contact.
- Assignment survives CRM sync. If a contact is later updated by a VaultRE, AgentBox, or Eagle MRI sync, its assignees are kept.
- New and freshly synced contacts start unassigned until someone claims them.
